About Mr Psycho
Mr Psycho was introduced for the sixth series along side his pet dog Growler, and was the largest and most powerful robot ever seen on Robot Wars.
His design was somewhat similar to Sir Killalot's as he caterpillar tracks and two arms to hold his weaponry. Like Killalot he had a pair of large hydraulically powered grabbing claws on one, and on the other a 30kg hammer.
Thanks to some very powerful 36v electric motors he was much faster around the arena than Killalot, which initially caused a few problems with his drive system as it wasn't able to cope with such a heavy, powerful robot.
Similarly his weapons also caused issues, the power of the hammer eventually had to be reduced because when he missed a robot it kept punching large holes in the arena floor, which then delayed filming while it was repaired.
His grabbing claw, while larger than Killalots, was never quite as effective due to its more awkward shape. He would often struggle to pick robots up or drop them sooner than intended as they slipped out of his grasp.
At around 750kg, Mr Psycho weighed even more than Killalot, but that didn't stop him from getting flipped over by Firestorm during the Commonwealth Carnage in the second series of Robot Wars Extreme.
After dumping the defeated Panic Attack in the pit, Psycho reversed up over the top of Firestorm's flipper. Off balance, a quick press of the flipper button sent him toppling over and he required several members of the House Robot team to help him back onto his tracks at the end of the fight.
Mr Psycho will not be returning for the 2016 series of Robot Wars.
